Past Cases

The Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission has the power to refer cases to the High Court for determination where it believes that there may have been a miscarriage of justice and that it is in the interests of justice to do so.

SCCRCPast Cases

If after completing a full review we decide to refer a case to the High Court, a short press release will be issued and we will update our website with a summary of the case referred.

A list of cases referred over the past ten years is maintained here and updated with details of the court’s decision where this is made available. Cases may be anonymised to protect the identities of vulnerable individuals.
