The Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission (SCCRC) is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No.2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

For example, this means you should be able to:

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

(a) non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Issues with images and video

Live video streams do not have captions. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.2.4 (captions – live).

  • PDFs and other documents

Some newer PDFs or Word documents may not meet accessibility standards as defined by the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. Where this is the case, accessible versions can be created on request.

(b) disproportionate burden

At this time, we have not made any disproportionate burden claims.

(c) the content is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

  • PDFs and other documents

Some newer PDFs or Word documents may not meet accessibility standards as defined by the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. Where this is the case, accessible versions can be created on request.

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.   • Video Content

Live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations. We do not currently have any video content on the website. Any new video content we produce will have appropriate captions, audio descriptions and transcripts as necessary.

Preparation of this Accessibility Statement

This statement was prepared on 6 January 2026. It will next be reviewed in January 2027.

This website was last fully tested on 6 January 2026. The test was carried out by Infinite Eye using WAVE Testing Tool in combination with our own manual testing. For manual testing, we use Google Analytics to find our most visited pages.

Testing was completed against WCAG 2.1 as the latest version of WCAG at the time of testing.
